“My Pikin” is a portrait of motherhood set against the quiet violence of war. Inspired by a woman sheltering with her child during the Lebanese-Israeli conflict, the painting explores the weight of protection and identity. The child wears a blue mask, symbolizing innocence and unknowing, while the mother’s red mask represents womanhood, strength, and the silent sacrifices of motherhood. In her arms, she holds both hope and burden.
