IZON Mask

This mask is inspired by the Wodaabe tribe's Gerewol festival, specifically the Sudosukai clan, who paint their faces red with white markings. The red base and white markings symbolize both cultural identity and personal resilience

The markings are not just decoration and celebration of tradition but also for the pursuit of recognition.

Just as the festival reveals the depth of the men’s pride and endurance, this mask brings to light the complex, layered identities of the women in my paintings —challenging the world to see and honor the untold stories of strength, survival, and cultural perseverance that are so often hidden.

Keniye  The IZON Masquerade

This is incredible! "Keniye - The IZON Masquerade" from your NO EYE CAN SEE ME series embodies your Masqueradism style beautifully. The fusion of cultural symbolism with a striking modern aesthetic is powerful. The red mask, adorned with cowries, and the voluminous green form evoke a deep connection to Izon masquerade traditions while carrying your signature themes of hidden narratives and identity.
